Sandburg Men Blow Out IVCC for 4th Straight Victory

The Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team led by as many as 40 points in the second half and blew out Illinois Valley 96-72 on Wednesday, giving the Chargers their fourth straight victory.
Sandburg (16-6, 3-1) was paced by 21 points from sophomore Deandrey Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Peoria) to lead all players. Robinson scored 15 in the first half as the Chargers raced to a 61-31 lead at the break.
Freshmen Carter Fayhee (Macomb, Ill./Macomb) and Scott Gowan (Rockford, Ill./Rockford East) each knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 19 points for Sandburg. Freshman James Jones (Springfield, Ill./Lanphier) came off the bench to score 12 points, all in the first half.
The Chargers will look to stay hot when they host Sauk Valley at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
